Western Cape Attracts Foreign Investment

Economic Development MEC Alan Winde revealed on Thursday that the Western Cape has attracted over R30bn in foreign direct investment (FDI) projects over the last three years.

Since 2009, there have been over 80 FDI projects with the United Kingdom and United States being the top investors. These projects alone have resulted in 6 900 jobs for residents of the province.

Winde was enthusiastic about these numbers and stated, “The Western Cape has been able to continue to attract international foreign investment despite the global economic downturn. It is clear that our province is becoming a leading business destination for international companies.”
