E-Toll Saga Will Come to a Close in November
Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (Outa) chairperson, Wayne Duvenage, says that the High Court in Pretoria will hear arguments in the e-toll case on November 26.
As Duvenage says, the process takes a while. On April 28th, the court first handed down an order preventing the SA National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) from levying or collecting e-tolls pending the outcome of a judicial review.
Before their High Court date though, arguments will be heard by the Constitutional Court on August 15th after Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan applied to the Constitutional Court to set aside the court order due to Judge Bill Prinsloo ignoring the principle of the separation of powers.
Originally the e-toll project was set to launch on April 30th.
